Warnings and Precautions
Novacort should be used with the following warnings and precautions in mind: Novacort is contraindicated for patients with hypersensitivity to pramoxine hydrochloride or hydrocortisone acetate. Novacort is for external use only. In some patients, systemic absorption of topical corticosteroids has produced reversible hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal
(HPA) axis suppression and other conditions. Administration of topical corticosteroids to children should be limited to the least amount compatible with an effective therapeutic regimen. Avoid prolonged use over large surface areas or use with occlusive dressings. Burning, itching, irritation and dryness have been reported infrequently following the topical use of corticosteroids.
